Our Mission

  • Encourage providing normal conditions and environment for orphans and deprived children to live and continue their education: We are committed to providing necessary assistances for these children to lead a normal life and to continue their education. We will work with the Department of Probation and Child care to find a suitable guardian (close relatives) for the orphans and encourage these children to live in the community with the relatives. We will also support and provide necessary assistance to the deprived children who live with their parents and continue their education. We will recommend a child to be placed in an orphanage only as a last resort, if fostering becomes impossible.
  • Support the school children to continue their education: Many children are unable to continue their education mainly due to financial constrains. We aim to remove the obstacles including financial constrains that prevent the underprivileged children continuing their school education.
  • Encourage Foster Care: We aim to stop or minimise the unnecessary institutionalisation of children. Children who have lost both parents are institutionalised as their relatives are unable to feed them due to additional financial burden falling upon them. We aim to retain these children in the community and be fostered by relatives or friends by financially supporting these children living with these families. Foster care gives them a chance to live in a familiar environment with siblings, relatives and friends. A child can be placed in an orphanage only as a last resort where no relatives are willing to take over the child or a child is being exploited by the relatives or parents or in a situation where foster care cannot be implemented.
  • Stop institutionalising the children those who have parents: Many children who have both parents or either of their parents are also being institutionalised due to poverty. We aim to support these families and encourage them to keep their children within the family by providing financial assistance and other support including empowering them to earn a living.
  • Prevent school dropouts: We aim to find out the obstacles which lead to school dropouts and Support them to continue their education.
  • Improving the nutritional and psychological wellbeing of these children: Many children are nutritionally and psychologically deprived due to sudden loss of parents, due to the effects of the conflict and being refugees. We aim to improve the nutritional and psychological wellbeing of these children by taking appropriate measures by collaborating with other agencies and departments.
  • Stop child labour, Illegal adoption and all forms of child abuse: We are collaborating with the officials of the Department of Probation and child Care to achieve this task.
  • Empowering the deprived and poverty stricken families: We aim to provide necessary assistance and relevant advice to empower them in income generating projects.
  • Support the underprivileged schools in remote and interior villages: Many schools in remote and interior villages are neglected and poorly equipped. We aim to support these schools by providing proper library facilities and necessary equipments for better education.
