HOW WE HELPED THIS WIDOW FROM TRINCOMALEE

MUNNAIPU-SWITZERLAND JOIN HANDS WITH AEDU-INTERNETIONAL.

I visited Trincomalee Sri Lanka in January 2013, to participate in our foster care-monitoring day.

This lady came with her 3 children; she spoke to me about hardships in her life after her husband’s untimely death. Unknown gunmen had killed her husband in 2006.

Since then she has been the sole breadwinner for her three young children and her elderly mother. She had been supporting them by working in houses on a daily basis. She had been financially struggling due to an unstable income.

We opened a joint account for one of her children on that day and started monthly financial assistance immediately.
On my return to UK I approached our partner organisation Munaippu- Switzerland to provide an income-generating project for this family. Munaippu provided funds (Rs 60,000.00) to install a small scale grinding machine and other necessary equipment.
A friend from Switzerland agreed to take over the financial assistance for her son until he completes his education. (This friend (Mr T Varathan) is supporting 7 other children from Trincomalee district.)
This family is able to support itself better now.
Our big thank you to Munaippu- Switzerland.

If you want to help a widow with an income-generating project or support children please contact me, I will make arrangements.

AEDU-International does not directly involve with donor’s funds or transactions.  Donors can send the money directly to the AEDU-Sri Lanka accounts in Trincomalee, Ampara or Batticaloa districts. (AEDU in each district functions autonomously and have separate accounts.)

AEDU INTERNATIOAL HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN HELPING HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN SINCE 2004. AT PRESENT WE ARE HELPING OVER 100 CHILDREN.
WE ARE HELPING 71 CHILDREN IN THE TRINCOMALEE DISTRICT ALONE.

Thank you
